Harrette is an adorable Dwarf Angora Rabbit. She is a sweet girl and would love to have a home of her own. Like most rabbits Harrette is a chewer and will need housing that is safe and secure. Lots of people want to get bunnies for Easter but what most people fail to consider is that rabbits can live 10-12 years and should not be an impulse purchase. Live Ducks and Chicks are not a good choice either as they grow rapidly and can carry Salmonella. As an Easter surprise a stuffed animal is always a better choice. Most rabbits really prefer not to be carried around and make a poor choice of a pet for small children so many Easter Rabbits are given up every year. If you really want to have a pet rabbit there are many available from shelters, we currently have nine rabbits awaiting adoption at the Humane Society of North Texas. A Rabbit adopted from a shelter will be spayed or neutered so you will not have to worry about a rabbit population explosion in your home and will make a much more docile pet.
